Online students at the University of Minnesota Crookston have access to print materials, online resources and other items just like an on-campus student. We have the ability to mail physical items to online students directly.
Get It is the process that the University of Minnesota campuses use to exchange library materials between themselves. You can also use Get It to request an item in your home campus's library. Online students can use Get It in two different ways:
1. Select Get It for an item that is physically in the University of Minnesota Crookston Library and you would like portions of the that item copied or the whole item sent directly to you.
2. Requesting items from the other University of Minnesota campuses at Duluth, Morris, Rochester and Twin Cities.
If you are unable to pick up the item at the library at UMC, please be sure to select Home Delivery from the Get It options.
Interlibrary loan is the process by which a library requests material from, or supplies material to, another library.
Any student, faculty, or staff member of the University of Minnesota Crookston has the right to use ILL.
Online Students also have access to ILL services at the University of Minnesota Crookston. This service is free of charge to all who use it. When at all possible, particularly in the case of journal articles, we strive to send you an electronic copy via ILL. We will also send out any book, DVD, or other physical item to your home. With those items, the borrower will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Most online databases and journals to which the University of Minnesota Crookston subscribes require students to login to authenticate their status as students of UMC. If a login is required, you will be redirected to a login page, where you use your University of Minnesota identity to login.
